David Keane
Keane was one of the most capped refs on the VIIs circuit since he made his debut in 2006. He played rugby up until the age of 17 when an injury ended his career. He wanted to continue his involvement with the game so took up refereeing at his school Clongowes Wood College. He refereed his first senior first XV game when he was 21 and a year later spent a summer refereeing in Australia. He has refereed games in the Magners League, European Challenge Cup and as well as under 19, 21 and A internationals. He now works as a Participation Rugby Operations Manager for the IRFU.
